Using Drumagog to trigger my Alesis DMPro

Can someone help me out. I've read the manual inside out on my Alesis DMPro, Drumagog, Cubase SX, and my FW1884. What I want to do is replace my recorded kick with a kick in my Alesis. It won't work not mattter what I do. I have in to out and out to in with Midi cable between my FW1884 and the Alesis. I load up Drumagog on the insert of the recorded kick and nothing.

triggering toms: getting a good sound?

here is the deal, we are making our second demo and wanted the drums to sound perfect but not to pay hundreds of dollars on mics so got it with trigger, after a long time tweeking i got find sounding snare and bass drums, even the hats and cymbals sound well. But those toms, those damned toms! it always sounds unreal. any tricks? many thnx!

Triggering secondary sounds

I have heard on a couple occasions of engineers using one instrument to trigger a sound generated from another electronically. For example, a gate would be "attached" to a kick drum, a synth holding a very low note (40 or 50 Hz) would be triggered when the kick gate would open giving a "sub" note to the mix whenever it is struck.
