MOTU 4Pre & Cubase Artist 6, Having Trouble Getting Started

Hi, brand new to the forum and fairly new to home recording. Previously I was an Avid user of Garage Band when I had a Mac, but when my old Powerbook Ti finally became fully obsolete I didn't have the money for another Mac. I ended up with a Lenovo (Idea Pad, I think) laptop and so I'm now using Windows 7.

having trouble on this mix, any feedback would be great

hey everyone I'm working on a mix for this indie/alt rock band from my area. My main influence for the overall sound is weezer's "the blue album", but for some reason i'm having difficulties creating the space that I want. Guitars were recorded off a Marshall "trans tube" head (at100 if i'm not mistaken), bass is d.i.

Trouble with Re-amping

Ok, so I've been battling a seemingly simple problem for ages. All I want to do is play bass into ableton, then send the processed signal out to an amp. Right now I have it set up so I run the bass into Ableton through the DI slot on my Mbox, then from a track in there, send that signal out one of the Mbox's output's. The output is run into a Radial X-Amp, then into my amp.

having trouble getting tight bass in my recordings

Great! A newbie mastering forum where I won't look so dumb!

I'm having trouble getting tight bass in my recordings. Many of you have heard my recordings...is the bass floppy on your playback system or is it just my room/speakers? What can I do to manage the bass in my recordings?

Thanks so much!

trouble recording guitar & need advice- timing/ tracking related

I am struggling to get this guitar track down correctly, it is mostly finger picking patterns in a 7/8 time signature. It is around 5-6 minutes long but I have been attempting to break it up into 3 parts though I still find it difficult to stay on time with the metronome though.
