I have no idea what I'm talking about with mics so...

How would I know if my large diaphram (1") condener mic was damaged while recording "rockstar" the guitarist. I only realized after that it may have been too loud for my mic.

I just recently got the rest of my rig together, and am having troubles getting my hardware to be recognized.

Here's the set up:
PreSonus Firepod > 6p-4p firewire cable > laptop (running 64bit vista).

I also have an external hard drive, so sub that in for the Firepod when called for.

Disclaimer: my friend gave me them for free!

I have the Behringer Truth B2031A powered-monitor.
I use it to mix recordings my friends and I make in my home project studio.
I don't feel that I overuse or misuse it, but apparently I am.

I'm running Logic Pro 8 with Reason 4 as the Rewire app & for some reason, if I try tracking live sound through an audio channel in Logic while Reason is open, the sound gets mangled [something like going through a bitcrusher]. As soon as I quit Reason, though, the audio channel clears up.
Any ideas why?

1) DAE froze up, error -199. Pro Tools wouldn't start up anymore. Had to reinstall Pro Tools.

Stuttering audio that just popped up in my setup.

Hi, I'm really down on my knees now, I've been trying to sort out why my comuter behaves the way it does and I feel I've been trying everything (almost). Please bear with me.

My system: Dell PIII450, 384 MB (PC100) RAM, 13GB IDE system disk, 20GB IDE audio disk. Win 98 is used. Maxi Studio ISIS sound card with ASIO drivers.
