hello. ive read this article in homerecording that u can actually upgrade an adk51 and make it sound like a Neumann u47 or something. i'm a bit warry. has anyone acutally tried this out? does it sound close to the real thing ... or world class at all? thanks.

Has anyone tried the TT or the A-48? There doesn't seem to be much discussion of these mics anywhere.

I've been eyeing these for a while. Anyone have experience? I really want to find a replacement for my C1 that I can use on guitar and vocals. The GT44 or 33 look good... Fletcher aproves of the GT44 (has meaning in some parts). I haven't heard much about the large diaphrams.

Has anyone used this mic? Any use?

I've been looking for some time now at getting a new mic ( I currentley own one mic an AT4033 and haven't had great succsess with it on rap vocals a couple of female singers have had great results though which that mic exsels at that anyway )

I believe the 55 is the FET version of the tube 66.

I'm still not 100% convinced about my current Blue Baby Bottle, and am looking for alternatives.

A friend's AT4033 had some elements that I preferred to the Baby, in that the 4033 wasn't so boxy, but the 4033 was also too raspy.

I know a few people who rave about GT's. Any diff since Alesis got ahold of them?

I need a good pre for mic tube mic(M147 tube from Neumann), i should to by a solid state Pre or a tube one?
Also which brand is good for my mic?

I was at NAMM today and demo'd the model 1B for my voice and what a unique sound that mic has..do any of you own one of these. what do you think?

I was in a shop today testing preamps and the salesman freaked when I turned on phantom power(on mistake). We were using a tube mic, the RODE NTK and he said that the phantom power would harm the tube in a tube mic's power supply. I have never heard this, is this true?

i'm looking at getting a pair of AM52's because they are only $199 a piece right now at musicians friend. i want a pair of mics with switchable patterns. i'm going to mainly use them for recording string quartets, vocals, other acoustic combos. price does matter, so please don't suggest i go get a C12 or something like that. thanks.
