Hey guys, I'm relatively new to the forum. I want to get better at recording, so I'm focusing on adding gear to round out my studio. Here's what I'm working with right now-

I recently invested in a few different tubes for my amp which only has room for a single preamp tube, the rest is solid state. I thought I'd share my findings with you. I could hear and feel a pretty nominal difference while playing through the amp, but to be honest I strain to hear the difference in the recordings, maybe your experience will be different.

I just ordered the PreSonus Studio Channel in hopes of increasing the quality of my recordings. Any of you guys out there have a chance to check this thing out before? Let me know what you thought if you have!

I'm looking at getting a better tube preamp for my home studio and i dont want to spend too much money, so I've been looking at these two:

ART Pro Channel Tube Mic Preamp

and

ART Voice Channel Tube Mic Preamp

ART MPA gold, not so great stock tubes. I've heard putting in some new ones can make a big difference, but what kind?

I have the mbox 2, and i wanted to get a better mic sound, so i've been researching preamps.
How would i hook up a tube preamp to my mbox? would i just use the mic DI into the preamp, and use the output on the preamp into the input on the mbox?

Hi all so I have a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier that I got used off of craigslist and I haven't yet swapped out the tubes. I think that they're between 2-3 years old (they are groove tubes if it matters). I'm going to be recording a new record soon and I'm wondering if it would be better to do a full retube or spend my money on a renting a high quality preamp such as an Avalon 737.

Has anyone replaced those?

Since my unit was made in 2005 I figure it nay be a good idea?

I was wondering if anyone has any opinions or reviews about the new ART Pro VLA II. I've seen a lot of reviews about the original version, however, this one is supposed to have a decent amount of upgrades. It's still a fairly new compressor so a Google search hasn't turned up much on it yet.

I'm wonderin' if anyone has any experience, recommends or otherwise on the PreSonus Firestudio Tube? I'm thinking of picking up this unit for a new home studio setup. If not this unit, then what would be comparable?

I'm wondering if it isn't just the blue tube's added onto the amp or something like that?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
