I'm looking for an improvement to my current PA. I'd like the system to be able to run a full mic'd up 6-piece band (drums, bass, guitar x 2, keys, vox x 3) with decent effects, switchable via MIDI. Playing to halls of approx 100-300 people.

What is the latest version of Sonar Producer or is it called that anymore? I have 8.5 and hated the GUI. To cluttered and dark so I shelved it. I haven't loaded it in for a year. Is X1 the newest version?

Does anyone here have it and what is it like?

I'm shopping for a nice preamp.

Hey everybody! I am a high school kid, with a fair amount of recording experience with bands, acoustic projects, orchestra's, and internal instruments. My school has a really great recording program with macs that run logic pro. Unfortunately, I do not have the money to buy a mac computer for my home, so I have been running FL for 3 years or so.

I have $3000 (maybe a little more) that I'm going to use to upgrade my mic or preamp...or both. Considering that I have the following, what would you recommend I upgrade, and to what?

Basically, how will I see the greatest improvement in my ending vocal sound?

I'm currently making plans on creating a more professional like recording setup in my home.
I want to be able to prioritize what are the most important upgrades and make them accordingly.

Let me give you a quick background on the gear I'm currently using.

Been using the MOTO MTP AV midi timepiece for years. I need something to sync MMC /midi clock tight and handle 3 ins and 3 outs min. I love this unit but its run its course. MOTO has the new USB version but I don't need something that elborate anymore. I'm looking at this baby brother:
