I am also quite a newb to recording, got some basic equipment and I'm not sure whether or not upgrades are required/possible. I have last year's Mac book, Apogeeinterface/logic pro. The thing is the Apogee/Duet interface only allows to inputs at one time, and Im looking to start recording some higher quality drums/multiple instruments at once.

Hi, as of right now I do all my recording, mixing and mastering in my Korg D16. Right now, my budget won't allow to get an interface for recording on my pc. What I'd like to do is record on my Korg and then import my files via Orb disc to my computer for mixing and mastering.

I've been using PT6.9 Le for a long time. It was doing what I wanted it to do. I am aware of the drawbacks of both the hardware and the software, but rather than move to another DAW and upgrade my interface, I decided to stand pat with PT and the 002Rack and keep improving my mic and preamp collection.

I am posting in Pro Audio as I need advice to upgrade my prosumer studio, but I am admittedly still a neophyte to this realm of audio sophistication, so please be gentle.

so i'm looking to upgrade my interface from my m-audio fast track to the fast track ultra or possibly the ultra 8r...primarily for the option of more simultaneous inputs...has anybody checked these out? they seem pretty decent for the low price.

I have a fire wire 16 channel mixing/recording board and all was working well with Cakewalk Home Studio 2004 except I cannot get home studio to record to my external drive and it appears it will not allow me to save to a new folder when doing different songs it wants to put all wav files on the C drive. I have a 1.8 GHz 512 MB computer with external 7200 rpm 16 MB cache.

I'm looking into picking up 2 Digidesign 96i/o interfaces. Does anyone know if there is something else I need to run HD (some sort of card, etc)? Right now I'm only running LE.

Just looking at the website. I can't imagine how you can make the Thorax any better? It's still my favorite audio tool. Can you tell us what you have in the works?

I am currently using PreSonus firestudio as my interface and was plesently surprised with the quality of the preamps/ converters within.
I also use Joemeek Twin Q Studio Channel as my main preamp for vocals etc.

I am looking to improve my signal path to Cubase as I am expanding my studio in an effort to go professional but on a budget.
