I've recently bought a new MultiMix USB 8 track mixer. I am going to be using this with my Mac iBook G4 and wondered if anyone has any input on the best/easiest/most reliable software to use.

i am triggering theater sound effects and musical interludes during live performances and I would like to bring my laptop into the picture. I want to trigger the fx via midi keyboard and have a better quality audio OUT than the stock sound card

would you use a PMCIA card type interface or a USB type?
the smaller the device the better.

I am new to the home-recording game. I have immediately run into a latency issue with my Tascam 122 USB interface - when I overdub on an imported beat or the rhythm track, the latency factor seems to be around 120 ms. Actually, it seems to be early / faster by 120 ms so I have to increase the time location on that track. I have two questions:

Ok, I am wanting to use a usb mic with nuendo. I can't figure out how to get it to record. One friend suiggesting routing it, but I can't figure that out as well. Please any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

I'm new to recording and am looking for a good quality usb mic to record onto my computer. What are the best ones available?

my oxygen 8 keyboard is running through the midi channel, and i can see the signal when i hit the keyboard, but i can't hear any sounds. i get patch files sometimes, but i want to know how to hear them!

I'm awaiting my laptop in the mail to use for my first DAW.

First off its a Dell Latitude P4 2.0ghz 512 RAM. Im going to be using a Hercules 16/12 Firewire unit.

:( 1. I need suggestions regarding what kind of mixer to purchase (for under $200) for my little home set up. I want one that has a relatively simple learning curve. I am not that great at this.

I contacted musician’s friend and they suggested one with a USB and firewall. I barely know how to set up the one with the RCA and ¼ cables.
