I like how you can hear them, just before they sing, trying to find their notes.. lol.. I though, "hey! I've done that!"

Neumann U87 Male Vocal - Your Thoughts
Here is a very bad vocal on a very good mic. I think the mic just sounds great as it is - no EQ or compression, etc.
Thanks

Building an isolation area for vocal recording
Hi guys.
I've been reading Rod's book, and I'm thinking about perhaps building an isolation area for vocal recording.
Vocal Normalization... Done In Mixing or Actual Mic Technique?
Pretty straight forward question... as I cut vocals, I often find that later phrases or phrases that descend to lower notes have a drop in relative volume and are hard to hear -- I've been creating volume envelopes to compensate, and I also know I can use limiters with threshold and ceiling settings or compressors to do something similar (just starting to do this)...
Southern Nights vocal effect
Hi!
Don't know if this is the right category to put this thread on, so please correct me in the right direction if it's not!
I've been thinking about this one for a while but can't figure it out..

Ableton live vocal processing (advice needed)
Hi there. We decided to move on to Ableton for live processing vocals on stage. We found that Ableton provides many effects which can be used in many different ways. Currently we've got Ableton 9, Line 6 digital wifi mic and NI AUDIO KONTROL 1 sound card. Everything is ok in my home studio, but once we go in the club and plugin our gear in the sound system we have a lot of feedback.
Vocal Test with an AKG SolidTube
I recently replaced the stock 12AX7 tube in this mic to a 12AT7. The original reason I changed the tube wasn't to get a tonal difference, it was just that the old tube was causing noise, and the only spare tube I had lying around was a 12AT... but I think it did change the tonal characteristics of the mic, not dramatically, but a bit.

Help with early 1990's reel-Tape Audio Restoration (Reverb) of Vocal Speech with Izotope or AA
I've cleaned up hundreds of hours of tape recordings, admittedly the easy stuff like humm, clicks, airplanes overhead, etc. So I'm still a totally nube, but I don't even know exactly what it's called when it's like the microphone is too close to their mouth and there is a reverb harshness to each word.
Make vocal reverb sound good in mono
Hi Guys,
We spoke about the importance of checking a mix in mono recently in another thread and it made me think.
We all have our little recipe. I'm interested to read about how others do make sure the reverb on vocals don't partly disapear in mono.
Do you use a mono reverb + a stereo reverb ? Any panning or doubling technics or just put the level higher ?
