I've got a session tomorrow and Saturday with a classical vocal sextet and am looking for advice in terms of Micing them.
The mics I'll be using are a pair of RODE NT5's small diaphragm condensers and pair of Audio-Technica AT4040 large diaphragm condensers. The venue is a small church.

Hello, guys! Anybody knows of filtering technique of Rock vocals in 60's..70's+? I mean vocals of Beatles, Blondie, Quatro, ZZTop, LedZep, early AC/DC and similar. What types of filters were used: LPF/HPF/.., secret comb filtering, phase related filtering,..? Wikipedia tells that Mr. Martin used an 'advanced filtering technique' of vocal recording. What is it?

Looking for vocal mixes I found this today and enjoyed it so much I couldn't help but post it. Kudo's to the Canadian sound.

Getting ready to record vocals for my band's album.
The genre is progressive metal.. Vocal style is mix of James Labrie, Ozzy, Dio..
My current setup is :

RODE NT1a mic --> Groove Tubes brick preamp --> EMU 0404 USB (A/D) ---> usb into PC--> Reaper DAW

Looking for the best bang for the buck vocal microphone under $250 street price for used ones tops. Prefer closer to $200.
This is all I can afford so please just give recommendations to what I am asking. I won't save up more, I already did so, my original budget was for $100 mic, but I saved up for a $200-250 one.
