I upgraded to winXP from ME, Downloaded the 0.66 beta drivers for layla 20. i diabled the microsoft wavetable gs in SETUP MME.
It was working fine for a while. Now i'm experiencing major problems (all happening within Cubase vst 32 5.1:

I have the new 5.1 version with the vocoder. Does anyone know how to proprly set it up? I have tried and tried I just can't get it to work? I have tried several suggestions and it just won't happen...I've heard people say you need a stereo channel, others say Group channel.

I am thinking of making a new audio app. I want it to have VST as well as DX support, what is the process (legal ) of doing this ?

I am seriously considering making an audio app. I would like it to have VST support. Is this truly an open format? Do you have to pay the Borg ( steinberg )?

I see Logic and SAW having VST, wish vegas and Samplitude had it.

Since VST and DXi instruments are audio sounds as opposed to being midi, is it feasable to export a song to wav or do you still have to record the whole song into your DAW as an audio file and then export as a wav?

do any of you run VST instrument through pluggo or VST wrapper? how tight is the timing/latency when doing this?
also, is there a 'master list' of wrapper-compatible VST effects/instruments available?

:( Is that what steinberg call a solution? If I use Battery as stand alone sampler I can solve this by decreasing buffer size, and everything's OK. I own a PIII 500 MHz 256MB RAM. Any thoughts? Help!

I have a MOTU 2408 and a 2 Tascam digital desks and a good pc setup . . my question is can I use the mixtreme card or mixpander for effects with my VST based DAW . is this an effective way around the problem of using native instruments and draining cpu power.
