I use the Roland 1680 hard disc recorder. I'm really considering moving to the Roland 2480..but I've been confused about the following:

I have been studying the art of recording for the past few years, I'm getting better at mixing/recording..and I read a lot about the subject.

The data wheel and right cursor button on my (3rd hand) 02r aren't working properly.
Both are intermittent. Very troubling when trying to change values!
Other buttons are ok, some are better than others.

I tried re-initializing but still the same.

Can someone advise me or direct me to some help?

being an intense user of the 02R V2, I would like to know from the new users of the 02R 96k/DM2000 if the automix pages have been improved with functions like:
-safe/protect automix and scenes;(provided at the 01V);
- page up/down;
- next/back

This nice console has been on the market for some reasonable time already. The double wiring cards have been shipping also, 96k thru lightpipe is a reality.
I am a user of the old good 02R V2, capable of 44k/48k, limited to a/d 20 bits, but outputing 24 bit data.

I run my studio based on a PT 5.1.1 Mix with 2 ADAT bridges light piped to an Yamaha 02R, complemented with an 01V and some outboard gear from dbx, Lexicon, ART and Digitech. some questions:

a) Do you think that it would be a great quality leap getting rid of the couple (02R + 01V) and going 02R 96k?

I am new in the market for a digital mixing board and was just about to buy a Mackie d8b (because a good friend has one and loves it) and then I recently found out about the Yamaha 02R96. I'm wondering if anyone has opinions one way or the other about these boards to help me choose what is the best product and how reliable it is. Thanks very much.
