Me and a friend of mine recorded 4 songs in Logic, all recorded at home.
We really want to know if some of you could give us feedback on the production/recordings.
I think it will be really helpful for us, because this is our first demo.

Oh, it's rockmusic by the way.
Thanks.

checked out your tune

There is a hiss constantly throughout and i am using top notch equiptment .The song itself is not bad .The intro was best part for me .The 1 thing that bothered me only lasted 2 seconds. At 4:02 the drums with that floor tom snare straight boom boom boom boom boom he ended with a roll .As a producer to me that 2 sec sounded cheezy if it had been at the beginning i would have stopped listening. But overall it was good . 2 seconds and a hiss not bad but that 2 seconds is important .Software will take the hiss out .drum part at 4:02 is too ordinary everybody has done that .that's where the producer has to not settle for the same old thing. Try something a little different on the drums there .I also liked that it changed more than once the song was not so repetitive. When i find 2 small things that can be fixed very easily it's because you did a GOOD JOB . Remember you asked for an opinion that's all this is .I will try to listen to the other songs and get back at you .later man

Thanks! We really apreciate opinions of all kinds at this moment, because we're really experimenting with the whole recording bit. Not quite sure what you mean with the hiss though. Is it on the drums or the whole sound?
We'll look into that drumpart, maybe it is too cheezy. Curious about what you think of the other tracks, hope to hear it soon.

The song mr suicide was good . I liked it but the vocals seem to get lost in the mix when the 2nd vocal is introduced . both the vocal tones sound similar and is getting lost in the low end .and it gets muddy but a little compression in small increments will bring the lead vocal to the front as will small amounts of EQ .Because it sounds like you are sharing a mic at that part. This song to me was well done it just needs tweaking .My wife just listened to it also and noticed it immediately being a singer . I listened to two of your songs today both of them were well played you guys certainly sound haunting its dark like depeche mode .Make a video for mr suicide you know graveyards funeral scenes the bitch that made you do it hangings whatever without killing yourselves BE SAFE .Throw it on youtube do it in black and white . keyword suicide will bring out the dark and haunted fans see how many hits you get .let me know if you do it and if you get it up there i will do my best to send some traffic to it who knows if justin bieber did it you can . I will listen to the next tracks in a day or two with fresh ears good work so far .Try a triplet or 2 on the drums in hunting season that bass drum, floor tom ,snare sounded like it did not belong there there are better ways to transition than that he was tight on all the parts just that 1 part is not original everybody used that to death everything i heard was original except that drum at 4:02 try a triplet there be creative your drummer plays better than that i know you already recorded it but punch it in it will be worth it .The hiss is subtle in monitors in head phones its more apparent it was the middle of the night when i listened so i could not crank the monitors .I use this method never use the first thing that comes to mind it's usually the 2nd or 3rd thing that makes the difference keep it original it sounds good. From the 2 songs i heard it sounded like the same band was playing it .That in itself is extremely difficult to accomplish .when i usually listen to bands it sounds like 5 different bands with the same singer .You have delivered 2 in a row that i knew it was you from the first bar DO NOT lose that because that's consistency GOOD JOB

Again thanks for the reaction. That Mr.Suicide clip is a good idea, but I have the feeling it should also be a bit funky (maybe because of the wah-wah I guess). But we do wanna promote our work by these sort of things. I mean, look at what Oren Lavie did with his Morning Elegance song. That's just awesome.

Really glad to hear that you think the sound is coming from the same band. I think we'll leave the recordings for now, but we'll take your advice for other songs to come. It's a fun experiment, but it's also going in a more serious direction. Hope you'll find the next two songs to be coming from the same band as well. 'Beehive' is a bit more cheery and less eerie, but I think it's good for the different vibe between the songs. 'No Good Excuses' is more of an acoustic set-up for an instrumental version that we will record some other time.

Loved the tunes . You have a good sound going for you. Would like to see the drums fattened up a bit , you have a solid full sound accross the board and the percussions seems out of place. Are you gateing your High Hat and Overheads ? I agree with evenmix on the vocals but sounds more to me like your using a uni directional mic and singin off to the side out of field.
