just curious if anyone has used it for hard, aggressive rock styles? or at all? is it worth the extra cash over something like the Audix d6?

I bought this mic. It's pretty good, but I'm not overly impressed by it. It's in perfect phase, yes, but I don't find the dynamic mic to compare to something like the D112 or D6. I still think the best thing is to use the separate mics. You can place them where each is needed that way (dynamic close to the beater head, condensor outside of the drum).
