I've read so many reviews lately I'm about ready to give up recording all together. I have settled on a MOTU 2408mk3 and the Focusrite OctoPre.

Yay or nay?

MOTU 2408mk3
Any experience with MOTU A/D's?
Same quality as the MOTU 828mk2?
Anything in the same price range comparable/better?

Focusrite Octopre
Any experience with the Focusrite Platinum range?
Does Focusrite's legacy of great preamps end here?
Are the onboard dynamics any good?
