:( This is my first post and reading all the posts here suggest that there are may pros contributing their excellence.

I have just embarked on a digital recording project and obtained a M-Audio 1010LT PCI card. I will be using this (and Ableton Live) on an HP Win XP SP2 machine with plenty of memory and a large drive. I actually have 2 questions:

1) Why is there a low frequency hum when the sound card is connected to the (external) amplifier and how could this be eliminated?

2) I already have a Boss BSR 532 digital recorder and plan to use this as an external input to the 1010LT (thru the analog output of the BSR). Is this a sound idea or will I be looking for trouble? (I would be using the BSR mic input to mix vocals).
