it seems all we have for the mac is spark or peak, I'm not a fan of peak and I hate spark, is there anything out there that sounds right ? something like Samplitude would be nice...

Heya, Mario! Why don't you take a trip over to http://www.versiontracker.com and search for "Audio" or just head into their audio software section. Versiontracker is a website that tracks freeware, shareware, updates and the such. I think one you could look for would be "Sound Studio". They will have a demo and you can then purchase a full version for a remarkably low price from the developer. Have a look, bro, and good luck!
