Hi, I am new tody to the forum, so forgive me if this has been answered before. I have a Roland VS 2400CD, and I love it, but I bring the songs into a Tascam CD-RW750 which totally crashed on me, and I have no way to get the multitrack hooked into the computer, so I am stuck with buying another standalone burner. I would like to get a recommendation on brand and model numbers. I am also looking into getting eventually, because of $$ a set of digital drums, so what is there in that end, or would you go with a drum set.

I did an A/B with the Tascam units vs. the Alesis Masterlink.

To my surprise, the ML9600 *killed* (with severe prejudice) the Tascams. Slaughtered, wasted, blind A/B *100* preference among several engineers over several tests, not even a fair fight.

That said - The (Tascam) DVRA units in DSD then slaughtered the ML9600. And the newer one with the built-in hard drive is a bad-ass deck...

THAT said, if you're looking for a simple deck that will take in PCM data and output the same - or as RedBook compatible, the ML9600 is a no-brainer.

*THAT* said, I'd rather just us any old PC with a digital interface.
