Hi there again - yes yes yes - sorry to be asking so much.

What I am doing right now is creating a live set which shall be pre setup as I am using a digital desk and a sequencer as well as loads of live instruments. Therefore I am pre mixing for a live situation.

However, I want to do a recording before I go live and just wondered how I should approach that. Remember, I've pretty much got a live set in place with everything volume balanced, panned, eq'd, compressed, effected and so on.

Hmm so do I turn all this off and record all my parts neutrally then start treating them the same as mu live mix?

For example, there is a guitar that is panned 45 right, with the bass rolled off at 200hz and a slight mid boost and it is set so it is of a medium volume in the overall mix. I know this to sound right in the live mix I have done. But do I pan it back to center, turn its eq off, raise its volume till its is back to peaking at -6db and basically make it neutral? Then once all the tracks are down, start to add all the paramaters back in and tweak?

Confused here - my gut feeling is to turn everything off and record neutrally with good signal to noise - but would this be a good recording of that guitar and would it be a good principle for all my insruments?
