I'm setting up a home studio with a 1/2" 8-track (Tascam) and Tannoy Reveal moniotrs. I got everything except the mixer. Any recommendations? I'm leaning to the A & H mixwizard. And also, whats with the great debate over direct outs and sub outs? I thought direct outs were the way to go. I may be using the computer for some demo work too...so I have to keep that in mind.

Direct outs are great if you have one mic going to one track on
Direct outs are great if you have one mic going to one track on the tape. But if you need to combine a couple mics to one track, you really need sub-groups. For instance, you want to take 3 or 4 toms to 2 tracks. You need to use a sub-group for that.
