Hey all, I and currently Studying at Mainz (http://www.mainz.ac.nz) in New Zealand! (Studing Audio Engineering obviously...)
Ive been reading this forum a lot and man is it awsome! Everyone here is so helpful and knowledgeable!
We have a current assignment to build a studio for NZ$40,000, this is just to buy gear etc (not the building or acoustics etc).
By no means am I asking people to do my assignment but if possible I would love some input as to things like, what monitors are good value for money etc etc.
Ive decided to go with an all digital studio... Some things we have to have is the ability to record 8 channels at once and some other stuff.
Anyway if possible could some people tell me what gear they have and roughly what price they got it for etc etc ?
I have also been reading sound on sound (magazine) and man is it coool!
Ive tried to google some stuff about monitors to start with but didnt get many good results...

Well, the way I read it, yes you are. Being coy and polite about asking doesn't mask it. As the DaDag mentioned, use the search engine here and other places. What you are asking for is something far more than curtious service and falls more into private personal consulting that people pay for. Besides, we all too often see around here the old "I have a school project to build/create a studio questions" You really only get the most out of what you learn if you do ALL THE WORK - without having to cheat or take shortcuts.
