Almost everything I do these days ends up on both vinyl and CD. As I was never part of the vinyl mixing gereration first time around, I don't think I'm fully aware of everything I need to be for the format. Like:
- Don't hard pan or have out of phase bass (makes the needle jump)
- Pay heaps of attention to sibilants (these will distort)
Most of the time the mastering engineers do a great job, and I've been pretty happy with the way the mixes translate. Is there anything I'm missing?

I was taught to be absolutely anal about putting things dead center. This allows a lot more level before it distorts. Hard panning is only a problem if there is a lot of low-end in it.
The other thing is to make certain nothing will be lost musically if everything below 50Hz. gets chopped off. In most cases this won't happen but occasionally it does become necessary.
I just did my first vinyl single mastering job in ages. It was great fun and I found out yesterday that we beat out somebody up in New York.
