I've been recording my band with MIDI/sample drums for some time now, as I don't have the equipment to record real drums. This wasn't too awful as I beame pretty good at editing on Logic, but I'm now looking to record real drums, but I'm a total noob when it comes to recording with more than just 1 input at a time!
Currently all I have is a Macbook with Logic 8, and also have a few different mics which I can borrow.
What I want to know is what do I need to record drums so I have each input recorded onto it's own separate track in Logic.
I was looking at the Alesis Multimix 8 Firewire, however I wasn't sure if this was capable of recording each input onto separate tracks, or if I need to get something else as well.
Really working with a low budget here, so I'm hoping something in the regions of £250, however I would stretch that if it would be worth it.
Any help or suggestions would be great!

There are two firewire connectors on the back of the FP10 because these units offer the option of daisy chaining two units together giving you 16 tracks of recording. This is a nice feature if you want to expand your rig later on.
You need only one firewire connection to record, once again check with Presonus (Presonus.com) forums/pre-sales to make certain your firewire chip is compatible prior to purchasing.

Alesis is is not IMO a very good piece of gear, their reverb units are ok but recording equipment no so hot.
Not sure of $/Euro conversion butthese are better units probably around your price range and even if a little more well worth the money.
