Well Clyde, to be quite honest you didn't give us a whole lot of info there. I don't know anything about ProTools, but I do know that, to get the help you need, you'll have to answer a few questions. What are you recording? (audio/midi) What kind of soundcard do you have? Do you have your output ports set? I assume the reason you hear sound, when you have Fruity Loops up, is that Fruity will sometimes set default ports(which may or may not always work). Anyway get back quick with some more info and I'm sure someone that knows what to do will chime in.

thank you Blutone
for the quick response .... got to get this music onto my hard drive asap.

Ok
sound card- sound blaster live ( is there a better sound card that want cost an arm and leg that would allow me to get better results or more versatility?)

I a recording both midi and audio but need the midi to work in this case.

output ports ...? this could be the problem
how do you do that ?

as far as fruity loops hmmmm could i go inthere and see the ports it uses and then set everything else? I use soundforge and sonar also (well cakewalk) and need all this to work together.

Well, first of all you must be running Pro Tools Free since that only works with the soundblaster...Pro Tools LE can only work with Digidesigns hardware, unless you have some cracked version. Hate to say this but any time we see that the sound card is a soundblaster, we immediately assume it's a cracked version. The reason we do this, especially on the nuendo forusm is this: If you can afford the software you must be able to afford a sound card....
not dissing you but to be honest it's taking money away from the software manufacturers whome we support by actually buying their stuff. WE don't support cracked software users usually. It goes against my ethics to be honest.
Again, I'm only assuming but again, it's usually the case.
Please tell us what version of software you are running, if it's Pro Tools free I can't be of much help since I've never bothered with that version. If it's a cracked version of Pro Tools LE, no idea as that may be your issue as to why it's not working
