As you know, I'm an Advocate of this DAW.

I think we would be talking a lot more about music and mixing techniques if more people were using Samplitude. Its a great [="http://pro.magix.co…"]mixing platform[/]="http://pro.magix.co…"]mixing platform[/] which is why I like it so much. It sounds as good as its gets and you need very little other than what comes stock in Pro X Suite.

I'm just upgrading now and thought this link might be of interest for those wondering about the inevitable upgrade costs. $ 239,00 (apparently a 33% savings right now) is what existing ProX Suite users pay. Not bad considering this new version includes a few very cool changes that I've been waiting for, for over a year. The last upgrade I did was over 18 months ago. When I was on Pro Tools, I was upgrading my Mac, all my plug-ins, cards and their interfacing. In comparison to sound and performance, this platform rivals my last PT rig that was 10x the costs. Upgrades were always into the thousands.
Its a no brainer to me.

As of today, Tim sent me a the current price list for everything on PDF. Here are the upgrade options online.

The price doesn't make sense... o_O

Tim told [="https://www.gearslu…"]here[/]="https://www.gearslu…"]here[/] that Samplitude has 96% of Sequoia in it. So, why Sequoia costs the triple?

Sequoia, we know, is the top of tops, but its cost is not justified, apparently.

I have an old version of Sequoia (v12), it's very cool, but nowadays I can buy/upgrade only Samplitude (Suite), that is very strong too!

Well... I love these tools anyway...

There has been some heat being thrown around recently, over on the Samplitude forum for the last few weeks, in regard to the pricing structure... the general consensus is that some loyal users feel that it's a bit unfair.

I guess I can understand some of the frustration - to a point; but it's still a very reasonable price for the upgrade, considering the newer features you'll get with the newer version.

As a side note, I think it's important to mention that Tim Dolbear had nothing to do with the pricing structure - as the North American Rep he's only doing his job, based on what the company tells him to do.
