hey people,

i am pretty new to recording. I have recently purchased Sonar 3 producer edition along with a Behringer EUROTRACKUB802.
I am having difficulty getting any sound onto the program.

I have connected the tape out on the mixer into the line in on the soundcard. but there is a very weak signal and very little is getting recorded.

can ne 1 help me out please?

Are you on a Mac or PC?

If it's PC these are the basics on most soundcards.

Click on start / programs / accessories / entertainment / volume control ... Look for a virtual fader called line in and turn it up to 7. That may be what's wrong .. if not, it's something in your recording program going on ..

That's with Windows 98 ... but I think it's pretty much the same with XP ...

I have turned that up already, is the problem the fact that I am using the tape out instead of the main out?

Also is it possible to record 2 seperate tracks from the behringer even though I only have 1 line on my computer.?

Would recording in stereo help?

sorry for all the questions it isjust very frustrating !

UB802

I have that very same cute little UB802. And used to have exactly the same problem. :D
What worked for me was to use MAIN OUT instead of TAPE OUT.

Also is it possible to record 2 seperate tracks from the behringer even though I only have 1 line on my computer.?

If your soundcard does not support multiple input tracks then you're stuck with recording 1 track at a time.
Facing that very same issue I turned to M-Audio's Delta 44 soundcard which allows me to record up to 4 different tracks at a time.
