Im thinking about buying a Korg Triton Extreme and Motif ES 6. I see many websites where u can purchase sum nice custom banks.
I have modded my Micro Korg with MS2000 patches but that was via midi dump.
I have no idea how to do a sys ex dump. Can sumbody tell me how?
Also has anyone that owns the triton or Motif tried to dump new banks onto them? If so, how do u do it? Is the dumps permanent as my micro Korgs were? Can u dump the new patches to your own new bank orrr... I really wanna know how this is done, and how it looks/operates in your keyboard.
My Micro Korg, I just picked the sounds I didnt like, and overwrite them with MS2000 patches I did like.
Go google Kid Nepro, he's sick with the patches. He has patches for EVERY major keyboard, and I have to say they sound tight.

Most keyboards allow sys ex dumps via midi. The manuals will tell you what settings the keyboard will need to be on in order to open the midi ports. I used a program called Sounddiver in the past to import patches and also make my own and save them onto my Proteous 2000 sound module. The changes were permanent however there was a way to reset the Proteous to the default settings. I assume most keyboards would be able to default back to factory settings. The key word is "assume".

basically the sysex is where the midi sequencer is used to record the sound bank information so that it can be recalled later ... could also be the TOTAL memory of the synth if that's what you want
we used to use cassette tape for this ... yuk
