Ok, is it me or is $299 a complete waste of money on a pair of these headphones.
Today i tried them at Best Buy, though they sounded great, they sound no better than my Audio-Technica $100 "Studio" headphones. I def would not req. these for mixing purposes (for those that also think Bose can be used for legit mixing)
I also tried thier in-ear models and it was a joke. Though great quality, my $10 Skullcandy ear phones where just as nice sounding, if not better. Two days ago i bought these $10 Skullcandys thinking they where "average" and i must say...they sound GREAT! Our $100 Bose earphones busted, go figure. Wait!..they are Bose they are suppose to be the best! nah...pastor
Looks, feels and sounds like Dr. Dre/Beats are another marketing for the ignorant.

I was recently asked by a friend what I would recommend as a purchase for good quality headphones.
My suggestion was ATH-M50, Sony MDR7506 or the 7509's. I have both the ATH and 7506's.
So he promptly went out and bought the more expensive Dr Dre's.....ludicrous!
Total hype, someone see's Paul McCartney using a Rickenbacker so marketing logic apparently dictates....hmmmm I will sound like Paul McCartney if I use the same thing....riiiiight LOL.

yeah, just because Ludacris is a musician does not mean he knows anything about headphones. Just because he drives a high end car, does not mean he knows whats under the hood. I have not listen to these headphones only a mixing engineers prospective. They are not good at mixing but i guess nice at listening to rap or heavy bass stuff. For the price, its a rip off. You can get much better from SkullCandy. Skull Candy is very nice for the price in....quality and sound. Not to say these are bad headphones, just not worth the price.

All the way with the ATH-M50 or the AT-Pro5. I have Pro5. They went and changed the name to M50 i think. Very flat and true sounding. Good at mixing. Never had issues with changing a mix after listening to them in car. The headphones might not be as "great" as some others but you cant go wrong with mixing purposes. As far as "listening" purposes, i am happy with SkullCandy.
