Hello there... first time poster here!

I have a Blue Yeti X connected up via USB to my Dell laptop. I have also connected up my Sennheiser headphones to the Yeti.

The audio through the Yeti sounds amazing, however whenever I try to either record something (using Audacity) or go on a Zoom call, the quality is very poor.

I have double checked to make sure I am using the right input in those programs.

I have also tried connecting to different USB ports, same issue.

Any ideas?

Many thanks for any suggestions!

Cheers,
Mike

Are you using too much or not enough gain?

The yeti is a pretty popular mic for streaming and podcasting.

That's exactly why I purchased it haha.

Tried disabling onboard audio, and played around with the gain. Again, sounds amazing through the headphones, but through Zoom, it's a fraction of the quality.

Actually, recording seems to be better now. Now the problem is Zoom. Hmmm... perhaps Zoom is somehow limiting the quality of the audio?

Zoom audio quality is not good, but you stated that you get the same problem with Audacity.

Can you post a 10-second clip of an Audacity recording? Use the "Upload a file" button at the bottom right of the reply box.

what you hear through the headphone is not what is recorded through the converter and audio interface included in the mic.. All those things in a small package, mic, preamp, headphone amp, converter, usb interface..
First, check in the audio settings in windows (or are you on mac ?)
You can check the trouble shooting hear : https://www.bluemic.com/en-us/yeti-support/
Also, you may want to try asio4all drivers, who knows..
