i am looking a pair of headphones for tracking and or mixing. i have a gift certificate for circut city and they have the bose triports. i was wondering if they might be a good pair to either mix with (i'm guessing the are probably not) listen to tracks as they are being recorded, or have those who are being recorded use them as they are preforming? Any feedback would be appreciated, including suggestions as to what are a good set of mixing headphones. :)

The Triport's aren't likely to suite studio use. These are not aimed at the studio market and not likely to be anywhere near flat. No I'm not anti-Bose. Their products are generally designed to be pleasant to listen to unless you don't care for their particular curve (neutral they are not). Hence why Bose has such a bad rap amoung engineers in general. FYI I use 802's for my smaller PA for coffeehouse type gigs.
