hi guys,

I was recording an acoustic guitar with my ungainly XY rig in front of it and there were pretty major changes in volume as he moved even a bit. I threatened to nail him to the floor but that didn't help.:x:x:x

Does anyone make a condenser with, say, a 1/2" capsule(not a little lapel job) that would clamp to the guitar and hold it 12" out at the 14th fret, or wherever it sounded best? I guess the guts of the mic would have to be elsewhere in the line.

I see 3 advantages

1-Set it, and he could walk around the bloody room if that's what floats his boat.

2-Set two of them and you could get stereo with no phase issues even if he moves around a bit.

3-A mic like this would also help greatly to be able to reproduce the results exactly for redoing parts on a different day.

Does this animal exist?

Thanks
Keith
