I MAY HAVE ASKED THIS QUESTION BEFORE, BUT I STILL NEED INPUT FROM THE VETS. IM USING AN AUDIOPHILE 2496/M-AUDIO...OK MY GOAL IS TO GET RID OF MY ANALOG MIXERS AND GO STRAIGHT INTO THE INTERFACE, MY CURRENT INTERFACE HAS NO XLR CONNECTORS. . I LIKE MY OUTBOARD PRE'S AND DON'T NEED A CONVERTER WITH PRE'S...i JUST NEED A REAL GOOD INTERFACE WITH XLR'S AND 1/4'S AND RCA'S. TO WHOM RESPONDS...A LIST OR YOUR EXPIERENCES OR CURRENT SET-UP WOULD GREATLY HELP..THANKS AND GOD BLESS

Your audio interface has 2 analog RCA inputs and 2 SPDIF inputs. I'm guessing that you don't use the SPDIF inputs because you say you don't need a converter.
I looked at some of your other posts and from what I can tell, you were using a mixer for it's inserts for compression or whatever and using the outputs of the mixer to go into the 2496.
So if you were to eliminate the mixer all you need is the proper cable to take you from the last device in your chain to the 2496.
Let's say for example that you want to go directly from your Grace to the 2496. The Grace has both XLR and 1/4" TRS ouputs. So you buy a cable that goes from XLR to RCA. Plug the XLR end into the Grace and the RCA end into the 2496. Alternatively you could use the 1/4" TRS output instead of the XLR. Heck, if you don't want to buy a cable, you can just buy adapters.
If you wanted to use the compressor, go from the Grace, into the compressor, then into the 2496.
To the best of my knowledge, there isn't something like a multi-jack patch bay that allows you to plug in one thing (like XLR) and route that to a bunch of different things (like RCA, 1/4" TT, etc). But something like that does sound neato. Maybe I should get the old soldering iron out...
