Okay, so I got a Digidesign Factory Mbox 2 package (with pro tools 8 le) and I am wondering if there is any way to run a separate mixer through this interface. I know how picky Digidesign is with compatibility, but when trying to record drums, 2 channels isn't quite cutting it. Any suggestions how to get around this?

Trade it in for a Digi 003. You are not going to get any more than 2 simultaneous channels with the MBox 2. You can mix as many channels as you want to the two channels on the MBox but you will not be able to edit the individual channels once they are on disc. If you want more than 2 simultaneous channels of recording, you need to get an interface with more inputs. Either that or you can just do like the rest of home users and record two tracks at a time.

Exactly what do you mean by this? Please explain?

As far as I know in order to get ProTools to recognize the Lynx you still need a Digidesign HD1 card at least. The Aurora will interface with the HD card but will not be recognized by ProTools on it's own. So, now you're talking well over $6000.
