Sure it is...............My Tracking/Mixing room(mine is one big room) has a wood floor. If I want it live I leave it as is.....Need to dead'in the room some ,I got a thick rug I put down. I put a hardwood floor in my room a few years back and love it.

Absolutely. I like it better than a carpet floor. You may want to consider some additional absorption on the ceiling too. Look up "Reflection-Free Zone"

Live floors, diffused / dead ceilings. It's a wonderful thing.

And of course, as many bass traps as you can fit...
