So I have a question:
I am going to record a friend of mine's live performance soon. It will be him playing a guitar and piano alone in a very small space. It's only a few mics and I am going to record stereo into my multi-track recorder out of auxs of the house's Behringer board. Then I will mix it and burn it and then he is going to sell it at shows. My question is: What percentage of the album should I get? This will be how I am payed. There will not be any money up front because we're both looking to help each other out. Any experience or thoughts?
Thanks everybody.

the easy way is to just have him pay you a sum for doing the project. worrying about album sale percentages will be a hassle.

"ok, i sold 3 albums this month, at $5 each. so thats $15. here's your $5"
"oh"

weak right? just have him pay you for everything and let him keep the album sales. maybe charge like $100 or 200, it sounds like this will be a small project. plus, you know that you'll get money -- even if his album doesnt sell !! (y)

thats how i do my live multi tracks...
