Hey I'm just starting out recording music in my home. but want to make my own beats aswell. and having not much music ability in playing instruments, this seems to be a problem. .
is there anyway i can get around this, with out have to learn to play a load of instuments, such as software that will allow me to create beats.
i have Sonar 5 at the moment but am still learning how to use it.
Any advice, help or feedback would be much appericated.
Thankz

Yeah, with most of the above-listed apps you can either play and manipulate existing loops -- or create and play your own beat sequences (you know, like a conventional drum machine).

Like I said, check them out. Listen to their mp3 samples. Download and test-drive their demos (if they provide them). There's a lot of variety. It's up to you to choose what you like and can afford.

if i were to make a recommendation i would say try a program called Fruity Loops.

its incredibly easy to get started with, i first used it when i was 14, and have been using constantly until just recently. it might not be the best program out there but its fun and functional and very capable when you start digging deep.

i recently switched to Reason, which definitely sounds better than Fruity Loops but has a much steeper learning curve.
