It's time to address the problem with setting up gear for shows. Until now, we've always relied on whatever was available at a venue-a table, some chairs, that box, the floor. Not safe and definitely not fun. I can't count how many times I've had to play on little tables that don't even come up to my waist. 45 minutes of that is murder on your back. We need to solve this issue.

I'll outline my gear list and maybe someone can offer some creative solutions for us.

1. Nord Modular
2. 15" Samsung LCD Monitor
3. Antares AVP-1
4. ART TPS II pre
5. MPC 2000
6. KAOSS Pad KP1
7. PC tower (soon to be racked)
8. Keyboard & mouse
9. Behringer XENYX 2222FX mixer
10. Radium 61 (dedicated synth stand for this)
11. BCR2000

I was thinking about building something similar to a DJ coffin (something with a lid would be nice) that had partitions for each piece that were interchangeable when it comes time to upgrade piece. That or perhaps foam barriers on velcro strips.

Whatever has worked for you guys in the past, please share. I'm not ready to plunk down $2k on a good laptop and streamline everything down just yet. In the meantime I have a lot of gear that is currently being taken to shows in either the original box or soft cases. It's a matter of time before something gets broken.

Thanks!
