Hello everyone, I am a new arrival.

I am looking to purchase a new soundcard for my home studio PC. To give some context I am recording predominately digital material in Cubase SX3 and my current card is not performing as well as I'd like. I tend to use an extensive amount of vst instruments and direct x effects (Native Instruments, Arturia, Korg, Waves, etc...) so that is my first consideration. I remember reading about an E-mu card that did some vst processing, but only for its own bundled software... which seemed pretty useless to me. I was wondering if there are any cards out there that would accelerate vst processing first of all. (although my cpu can handle them well enough it would be a nice bonus)

I guess if this is an unreality I would go for something with a lower latency and better sample rate; most cards would out perform my current one on both of these fronts. I would like to hear the opinions of more experienced individuals on which cards are fairly solid and have few issues.
