Greetings -

I have a Roland F-90 digital piano that I'd like to record.
Can anyone suggest an inexpensive hardware interface would allow me to record into
i) a WinXP PC running Audacity?
ii) a Macbook or Mini running, say, GarageBand?

Thanks.

Sure, just about any USB 1.1 interface by just about any manufacturer. You only need line level inputs if you don't use any microphones. The M-Audio Transit comes to mind and is ProTools capable. So it's designed for both PCs and Macs. About $80 US which includes some software along with compatible drivers for Mac and PC's. You did indicate you wanted a MIDI device but that only records data. I take it you actually want to record the sound of your axe as opposed to just the MIDI data? I could be wrong? In which case you need anybody's midi interface to USB. Then the computer can play back your synthesizer. It's all in what you really want to do?

I feed mine from API 3124m's so I'm happy, acoustically speaking.
