Hey everybody!

Can anybody tell me of any keyboards available out there which compare to the Alesis QS8.2, but don't cost quite as much?

I'm wanting to purchase one as a gift for a friend, but he won't accept anything as expensive as the Alesis (even though that's the one he really wants).

I will greatly appreciate any/all comments.

Thank You -- HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

It depends on what he is going to use it for. I have Alesis boards here that I use for some of the strange synth sounds they offer and live they are fun. If he is going to use it mainly for a piano then I would suggest the Kurzweil sp 88 for an inexpensive alternative. It doesn't have all of the sounds and features but it is a much better sounding keyboard. I have also found that many of the cheaper Yamaha keys sound damn good for the money also.
