How are these outboard recorders w/multi tracks software like below? There are couple I looked at online below.
The Digidesign comes with Pro Tools SE. I have the cheapest of the cheap. .SB LIve and Power Tracks Pro now. I wanted to get more Plugins so rather pay that cost someone suggested just get entire new software.

I could get buy with 1 input and 2 would be convenient. I do mostly guitar and some vocals and all hobby stuff for fun, but I do a lot of it and records my output on CD.

Is the a site that compares and rates these bundled audio interface/software?

Is all the music played back through the unit too?
Is the Pro Tools SE a good multitrack recorder. and how about Power Tracks Plus?

Digidesign MBOX Music Production System /w pro tools SE $449
Lexicon Omega Desktop Recording Studio w/power tracks plus $349

Thank you for any suggestions.

Its ProTools LE, and yes its very good. It is a Pro/semi-pro/prosumer version of the software 1000's of pro cd's are recorded with. You will be much better off with that, then your other option.

Pro Tools is actually quite easy to learn also. You can go with the MBox to get you started, then at some point you will probably want to upgrade to a 002 or 002 rack system, for much better I/O options, and higher sampling resolution.
