Hi! I want to know how to route and use outboard gear such as compressor,eq,reverbs et delays.. ?

Do we need a console?
How we apply the effects after the tracks are recorded?

I'm a bit messy with this subject and I need help!

Thanks

More info please. DAW? Interface? There is very little you can do with most DAWs. 90% you need to be using plugins unless you're mixing to an external hard drive recorder or tape(digital or analog).

You can track with comp/eq but you don't want to do this with reverb or any other time delay/modulation effects. If you want to use a compressor/eq, your interface needs to have inserts or an external preamp(s).

Two cables per channel needed. 0ne cable from submaster/tape output to input on processor. One cable from processor output to Firepod line input. Use balanced(1/4" three conductor tip/ring/sleeve) cables if you have them.

I can't draw it any better than I explained it and it is as simple as that.

Read the hook up manual mckay : http://www.mackie.com/pdf/8bus_hu.pdf

This kind of setup is very challenging to someone with little to no experience in doing it. What routes to where and why can keep you off balance for days.

If you do not have a notebook, one of those paper things with blank pages, get one. After you get some kind of understanding on what it is you are trying to do, simple as you may think it is, outline a diagram.

You will most likely have a patchbay although you may be able to negate this with a different routing scheme. So it can be done, but you are asking a question that may not be able to be answered directly with a few simple posts.
