Okay so here is my problem;

I have a mobilepre usb preamp from m-audio, and when I plug my guitar in to make it go through my speakers everything works just fine, but it's out of sync, aprox .5 seconds to 1 second. This is really irritating when you're trying to record :/

I have windows7 64bit
I've downloaded ASIO4ALL

I don't know what else to do, any help on this would be greatly appreciated

That's because when you plug into channel 1 it is panned hard left and likewise channel 2 is panned hard right. This is within the ASIO control panel for the MobilePre.

On either Win7 or Vista make sure that you have turned OFF the Use Control. Also, make sure you have set the permissions on the hard drive to allow all for all available profiles.

I have deleted ASIO4ALL as I was following the steps above, so I should re-instal it you say?

Where can I find the "off" feature for the Use Control ?

And this set permissions on the hard drive thing, this is the "run as administrator" yes ?

No. Do not reinstall Asio4All. An ASIO driver is a type of audio driver. The MobilePre provides it's own ASIO driver. I don't have that device but the M-Audio drivers usually install an icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) . From within that GUI you should have access to controls.

To turn off user control:
Click Start->Control Panel->User Accounts->User Accounts->your name->Change User Account Control Settings. Pull the slider all the way to the bottom. Restart.

Permissions on the hard drive:
Click Start->Computer. Right click on the hard drive. Left click on the Security tab. Click Make sure every profile under has the "allow all" permission checked.

Hmm, well, all of which you asked me to do was already done. (The slider was at 0, and in computer>security all my accounts already had full access.)

So I am really dumbfounded right now.

edit: I can't move my latency slider.

The latency slider should only be greyed out if the driver isn't being used-ie not connected. Is there a DAW open? If so it probably has control of the ASIO driver and you will have to access the settings from within the DAW.

I confess to not being up on much of the M-Audio oeuvre. Not a huge fan.

Hueseph will likely check in on you tomorrow. I've done for the night.
