Anyone ever own or use a Firepod? It seems to fit with what I want for my system, but wanted to hear about any positives and negatives from people who have actually used it.

Thanks

I can't really give a comparison, but I have used it and liked it a lot. Clear signal, plenty of inputs, phantom power, and easy to use. I just ordered mine today since my friend needed his back. It has also dropped from 500 to 400 which is a plus, and on eBay I got it from a company that is also throwing in an AT2020 mic with it. Can't wait to get it!

The only bad thing about it is that if you want to expand or record more channels at the same time you have to stick with another firepod. If Presonus would it add the light pipe then it would it been a lot better but I guess that's why they now put out the new firestudio that gives you 16 more channels allowing you to use the different brands of preamps throught this connectivity. O well, I don't regret having the firepod its been a good interface. I would recomend getting the firestudio though, because eventually you probably would want to record more channels at the same time. Anyways that's my input.
