Hi, so, I'm gonna be spending my days off this week recording my former supervisor's acoustic duo. To check out some of the stuff they've done go to: http://www.myspace.com/jamesswafford The first to songs on there are with his current guitarist/vocalist. So, my game plan for recording as far as mics go/placement is as follows:

Acoustic Guitar: RODE NT1A / 12th fret area, but will experiment

and/or/none

1-2 Nady CM90 small condensers / experiment with placement

Mandolin: Direct-in from Godin Mandolin, perhaps use the RODE and/or Nadys as well

Harp aka Harmonica: SM57 or Green Bullet / Either handheld or on a stand placed few inches away

Vocals: RODE NT1A or MXL2001 with Shure Pop Filter

I'm using a PreSonus Firepod and will either use the built in preamps or use my ART Tube MP Studio Ed. We will be recording individual tracks for each instrument/mic at a time. All we have is time and we're going to use it to the fullest to get the best sound we can.

Any suggestions/modifications to this "game plan" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
