I don't know about chip per se, but the Big Ben clock is not the same as that in the Rosetta. However, the clock in the AD16X (or whatever the new version is called) is that same as that found in the Big Ben. The clock in the Rosetta is not quite as good, but of course you could use the Big Ben to clock the Rosetta. From various reviews I've come across, there is an audible, if subtle, difference, but I've heard neither machine, so don't take my word for it!
