just would like to know if the m-audio usb unit would work in an xp64 quadcore running tracktion 3

. .sombody told me that usb devices do not need specific drivers for the os? but this doesnt sound right to me...but I'm not sure.

i cant seem to locate xp64 drivers for the m-audio and i havent had a chance to try it with xp64 yet.

thanks in advance for any info on this guys.

All hardware takes drivers. A lot of the time Microsoft has already supplied them.

Normally you would install the driver FIRST and then plug in the device. If you have already plugged in the device and not downloaded any drivers you will need to check to insure the correct driver is installed. You will find the hardware and drivers in the device manager.

You should be able to find drivers on the m-audio website. They may or may not have drivers for the 64 bit systems yet.

good Luck.
