I was given the Kemper Profiler on load for a few weeks to try out in my studio. Wow! It was outstanding. We were busy with a recording session at the time and I was so impressed that I decided to use it exclusively in the session. It turned out looking like a Kemper demo but I think that you'll agree - the tone was pretty convincing.

I learned this morning via facebook that a great friend died a few days ago. Richard Turcotte.
It's a big chock since I talked to him a few weeks ago and he seemed fine.
Going at 60 is so early. Evendo I'm 48 and still have both my parents alive, it just makes me think about my own departure and how we never know how long the distance is to get there...

I'd like to experiment with the kind of rhythmic control over an instrument's signal level synced to a track as Johnny Marr did with his guitar on 'How Soon Is Now' in which a drum machine is inserted into a compressor's sidechain (see this YouTube demo).

How it going everyone? I’m new to the site and new to the subject as well...for a long time I’ve wanted to buy some monitors and get into mixing my own music and I wanted to create an album. I never went thourgh with it because I couldn’t afford it. I’m a little older now and can afford to buy the equipment of a studio and sound proof and treat a spare room I have.

Situation: I need to film and record sound for an artist who will be singing a capella (all done most likely in one take) in an acoustically great venue with some natural reverb at the end of Nov.
