Large Ensemble Recording Problem

Hello all,

I need some tips for recording an Large ensemble( something about 60-70 musicians) in an large auditorium (300 people capacity).

It's a charity job for a project of my church, so the equipment is, unfortunately, low budget.

I actually have a Roland R26 recorder, a Audio-Technica AT2020 and two 5 meters height tripods.

Does a bass preamp fry a channel on an analog board?

My bass player just fried two channels on my board. He used a preamp compression pedal, into a passive DI box into an XLR channel. My formerly beautiful board smoked. It was clipping. We changed channels, DI box, cables and the second channel started to smell too. I disconnected the bass player and ran him thru my Roland keyboard amp. Please help me understand what happened!

Complete newbie trying to "master"...

Forums

I recently picked up a PreSonus 1818VSL and got back into the recording game. I haven't done anything with my stuff in over 10 years. I used to use SONAR and had fairly decent results. My recordings are pretty close to what things sound like live but whenever I mix something down, it always sounds thin and quiet when compared to an "actual" recording from a decent studio.

Question about changing sample rate "in the making"

Hello

I have a group of Cubase projects in 44.100/24 bit.
They consist of mainly midi tracks of strings, drums, bass ( mostly VST Kontakt libraries) and a a few wav tracks of looped material.
This projects should function as basic tracks for a recording session when vocals, guitar and piano will be recorded.
