I wonder how the Royer SF-24 active stereo ribbon would compare to the passive Royer SF-12 run through FetHead or Cloudlifter impedance matching preamps?

Does anybody have experience of comparing first hand? Is SF-24 quieter? Better sounding? Or maybe not?

Not sure at all if I'm in the right place for this post. I'm looking for guitar amp effects for audio tracks in Ableton Live intro. I have Logic Pro X and it has a pretty extensive array of amps and cabinets for guitar but I like using Ableton live now. Guitar rig?

Here's an early mix of a new song. (I was going to be re-cutting vocals today but woke up stuffy nosed). This song features real drums in the mix tracked Glyn Johns style. After I recorded my scratch tracks I sent them out to a drummer to lay down the drum parts, then on their return I re-tracked the song locking into his drums.

Not only have Apple released 10.4, but they have changed the game, significantly...

Oh boy, check this feature out :).

I have a good friend, whom I have played with, both live and in the studio for many years, he's a great bass player, very melodic and tasteful, whom I am calling in to track an upright bass for a song that has an early 1950's sort of Capitol Records vibe ( think Sinatra, Bennet, Cole, etc).
I'm looking for suggestions on mic choices, preamp choices and placement.
